Test the
panel before
you treat the
man.

Most TRT services hand you a prescription off a checkbox quiz. We hand you thirty-eight markers — the same panel a $400 endocrinologist visit pulls — drawn from your kitchen table, run by a CLIA-certified U.S. lab, read by a board-certified physician. The first kit is $99 and is fully credited toward any protocol you start. No subscription. No commitment. Just a number that's yours.

02 / The Panel

Thirty-eight numbers your other doctor
probably never ordered.

Most "low T" workups stop at three markers — Total T, Free T, maybe SHBG. We pull thirty-eight, across the androgen axis, the metabolic floor, the cardiovascular envelope, and the thyroid. Why: because the answer is rarely just testosterone, and treating just T without seeing the rest is malpractice we won't ship.

Androgen Profile ⌖ 06 markers

The headline. Total T, the bound vs. free fraction, what it converts to — and what's caging it.
⌖ AND-01
Total Testosterone
The headline number. Drawn fasted, AM. LC-MS/MS, not immunoassay.
⌖ AND-02
Free Testosterone
The fraction your tissues actually see. By equilibrium dialysis — not calculated.
⌖ AND-03
Bioavailable T
Free + albumin-bound. The truer "active" pool.
⌖ AND-04
SHBG
The cage. High SHBG → low Free T even when Total looks fine.
⌖ AND-05
Estradiol (E2)
Sensitive assay. Low E2 wrecks libido & joints; high wrecks recovery.
⌖ AND-06
DHT
The downstream androgen. Drives drive. And hairline.

HPG Axis ⌖ 04 markers

Is your brain still talking to your testes? The axis decides whether your protocol can preserve fertility — or has to replace what you stopped making.
⌖ HPG-01
LH
The brain's signal. Tells us primary vs. secondary hypogonadism.
⌖ HPG-02
FSH
The fertility signal. Drives sperm production directly.
⌖ HPG-03
Prolactin
Elevated prolactin tanks libido & T. Cheap to find, cheap to fix.
⌖ HPG-04
DHEA-S
Adrenal reserve. The ceiling on your "vitality" capacity.

Metabolic Floor ⌖ 09 markers

Insulin resistance is the silent saboteur of testosterone. We screen the whole metabolic envelope before we hand you a protocol that won't work without fixing the floor first.
⌖ MET-01
Fasting Glucose
Baseline glycemic control. The first domino.
⌖ MET-02
HbA1c
90-day glucose average. Where you actually live.
⌖ MET-03
Fasting Insulin
The hidden marker. High insulin tanks SHBG and your morning T.
⌖ MET-04
HOMA-IR
Insulin resistance score. Calculated from glucose × insulin.
⌖ MET-05
Total Cholesterol
Building block of every steroid hormone you make.
⌖ MET-06
LDL-C
Cardiovascular risk floor. Re-checked at week 8.
⌖ MET-07
HDL-C
The protective fraction. T can lower it; we watch.
⌖ MET-08
Triglycerides
Visceral-fat proxy. Drops fast on a protocol that's working.
⌖ MET-09
ApoB
The number cardiologists actually trust. Not on most TRT panels.

Thyroid & Adrenal ⌖ 06 markers

The most common "low T" complaint is sometimes hypothyroid wearing T's clothes. We test all four thyroid markers, plus cortisol — because misdiagnosis is how you waste two years.
⌖ THY-01
TSH
The brain-to-thyroid signal. The cheap one most labs stop at.
⌖ THY-02
Free T4
Your storage form. The ceiling.
⌖ THY-03
Free T3
The active form. The one you actually feel.
⌖ THY-04
Reverse T3
The brake. High rT3 = "stress thyroid" — won't show on TSH alone.
⌖ THY-05
Anti-TPO
Thyroid autoimmunity. Hashimoto's screen.
⌖ THY-06
AM Cortisol
Adrenal floor. Low AM cortisol = the "always tired" picture.

Safety & Compliance ⌖ 07 markers

A responsible TRT physician needs these before they prescribe — and at every re-test. We pull them on day one. No protocol ships until they clear.
⌖ SAF-01
PSA
Prostate baseline. Required before any androgen therapy.
⌖ SAF-02
Hematocrit
Red-cell volume. T raises it; we monitor every 12 weeks.
⌖ SAF-03
Hemoglobin
Oxygen-carrying capacity. Same logic as Hct.
⌖ SAF-04
CBC w/ Diff
Full blood count. Standard safety baseline.
⌖ SAF-05
CMP-14
Liver, kidney, electrolytes. Every panel, no exceptions.
⌖ SAF-06
Vitamin D, 25-OH
A known T-modulator. Fix this first if it's low.
⌖ SAF-07
Ferritin
Iron stores. Low ferritin mimics low T fatigue.

Cardiometabolic Extras ⌖ 06 markers

Optional add-ons for the man who wants the full picture. Included free in the Bench Panel — never charged separately.
⌖ CAR-01
hs-CRP
Inflammation. The stealth driver of low T.
⌖ CAR-02
Homocysteine
Vascular risk. Methylation-pathway proxy.
⌖ CAR-03
Lp(a)
Genetic CV risk. Once-in-a-lifetime test most men never get.
⌖ CAR-04
Uric Acid
Metabolic syndrome marker. Often skipped, often abnormal.
⌖ CAR-05
IGF-1
Growth-hormone proxy. Recovery & body-comp signal.
⌖ CAR-06
Magnesium (RBC)
The mineral that runs hormone synthesis. Low → low T.

⌖ Physician Interpretation

Read in plain English: Your testosterone is low — meaningfully — and three downstream markers (Free T, Bioavailable T, DHT) confirm it. Your brain is sending the right signals (LH/FSH normal), so your testes are still wired up — they're just under-producing.

The flags I'd want to fix alongside T: HbA1c at 5.8% (pre-diabetic floor), fasting insulin at 14.2 (insulin resistance), and ApoB at 102. These three numbers will move on their own once T comes up — but I'm watching them.

Prolactin is a hair high. We'll re-test at week 8; if it stays elevated I'll order a pituitary MRI as standard of care.

What this actually replaces.

A standard endocrinology workup is two visits, three weeks of waiting, and roughly $400 out of pocket — even with insurance. The Bench Panel is one kit, five days, ninety-nine dollars, and you get the protocol script in the same window.

06 / Common Questions

The questions everyone asks.

If yours isn't here, the physician's intake covers it before any kit ships.
What if my numbers come back fine — do I get my $99 back? +
If your panel doesn't warrant a protocol, the M.D. tells you that — in writing — and the $99 stays as a credit on your account for 12 months. You can use it toward a re-test, a Sexual Health protocol, or any future product. We don't refund cash, but we don't keep money for protocols you don't need.
Is a fingerstick really as accurate as a venous draw? +
For the markers we run — Total T, Free T, SHBG, E2, lipids, A1c, the rest — capillary samples are validated against venous blood and used in clinical trials. The kit ships with detailed instructions, and we provide enough lancets to repeat if your first draw underfills. If the lab can't run any marker, we ship a free replacement kit overnight. No questions.
How is this different from a $49 Amazon home T test? +
Three differences: (1) Method. We use LC-MS/MS — the gold-standard endocrine assay. Most cheap kits use immunoassay, which over-reads at the low end where you actually need accuracy. (2) Coverage. We run 38 markers; they run 1 to 3. (3) Read. A real M.D. reviews your panel and writes a protocol if appropriate; cheap kits hand you a number with no medical action attached.
What if I already have recent labs? +
Upload them in the intake. Our physicians read labs from any U.S. CLIA-certified lab — Quest, LabCorp, Cleveland Heart, Boston Heart, Function, etc. — drawn within the last 90 days. If your panel is complete, you skip the kit entirely and go straight to the physician review. See our protocol triage.
Is the $99 really credited? Where's the catch? +
No catch. The $99 you pay for the kit shows up as a credit on your first protocol invoice — Forge ($199/mo), Spark ($165/mo), or any Sexual Health protocol — for 12 months. If you never start a protocol, it stays as account credit. If you want a refund instead, we'll process one within 30 days of result delivery. Member-friendly is the moat — we're not going to torch it over $99.
Do I have to start a protocol after? +
No. About 1 in 6 members come back with numbers that don't warrant treatment — and the physician will tell you that, in writing. You walk away with the most thorough hormone panel of your life and a baseline you can re-test in a year. We're a clinic, not a sales funnel.
What about HSA/FSA? +
The Bench Panel is HSA/FSA eligible — it's a diagnostic test ordered by a physician. We provide a coded receipt at checkout; submit it through your benefits administrator. Most members get full reimbursement.
What states do you ship to? +
All 50 plus DC for the kit itself. The physician's prescription depends on state licensing — see our Physicians page for the live coverage map. If we can't write you a script in your state, we'll tell you before you buy and refund the $99.
